Here you will find the practical information that you need for staying at Dornie Croft. We have sought to equip these homes to a high standard and be environmentally-friendly.  See this article in the blog for more information on what we’ve done and what you can do to protect our beautiful area. We aim to anticipate your needs by providing all the things you might want for a carefree stay and welcome your feedback on any improvements.  We believe that when you are here this is your home for however long you are staying and we trust that you will be relaxed, comfortable and happy.

Check-in

Check-in time is after 5pm for An Iolaire and 3pm for An Dòbhran. We can sometimes arrange an early check-in so please contact us and we’ll do our best. We suggest you refer to The Area page on what to do if you arrive early – there is plenty to keep you entertained!

Check-Out

Check-out time is strictly before 10am. Should you require a later check-out we will do our best to accommodate you but you need ask beforehand. If we have guests arriving that day it will be almost impossible to offer a late check-out.

Minimum Stay

The minimum stay is seven nights in July, August and September.  Check-in for An Iolaire is a Friday and for An Dòbhran it’s Saturday.  Outwith these months, we can offer shorter breaks of three nights or more.

Rate per night

Rates range from £200 to £240 per night.  The only additional cost would be for the EV charger if you use it.

Payments

50% of the full payment due at time of booking. The remaining balance due is due six weeks before arrival. We accept online payments with all major credit cards. Please contact us if you wish to arrange for a different payment method.

Cancellations

95% of paid prepayment is refundable when cancelled six weeks before arrival or earlier. We do not provide refunds if cancelled less than six weeks before arrival. To cancel your booking please contact us by email as soon as possible.

Accessibility

Both houses have a ramp to the main entrance and a ground floor bedroom and shower room, making them suitable for guests with mobility impairments. Our accessibility guide is here.

Not allowed

We regret that pets and children under 12 are not allowed in the properties. Smoking and vaping is strictly prohibited.

Parking and facilities

Private parking available for two cars. Private garden. 

EV Charger

There is an EV charger at each house. Electricity for these is the only additional charge.

We encourage our guests to use public transport where possible – read our blog here.  We are located a few minutes’ walk from the Glasgow/Isle of Skye bus stop and the nearest railway station is 9 miles away.  

Environmentally friendly

We aim to reduce our impact on the environment and provide recycling bins in and outside the house.  Your welcome pack is based on #shoplocal and we provide recommendations for local food and drink. 

Location features

The houses have uninterrupted waterfront, loch, and mountain views. Nature walks and wildlife are abundant in the area.

Amenities

Rural location, within walking distance of hotel and pub, restaurants and attractions, including Eilean Donan Castle. You will find a comprehensive guide in the Welcome Book.

Bathroom and laundry

Bed linen, hair dryer, bathroom essentials, towels, iron and ironing board, washing machine and liquid detergent, outside drying.

Kitchen and dining

Blender, coffee machine, cooking utensils, dishwasher and tablets, four-burner induction hob, microwave, oven, fridge-freezer, toaster, vacuum cleaner.

Internet and Office

Broadband Internet/WiFi available. Desk space on the mezzanine.

Entertainment

There is a selection of books for you to enjoy. All the televisions are Smart TVs and work from the internet.

Safety

Both cottages are fitted with smoke detectors and fire blankets in the kitchen. Please don’t light candles in the house.

Heating

The properties have underfloor heating run by an air source heat pump and electric woodburner stove.
