Terms & Conditions

1. Occupancy:

No more than four people are to occupy the house. Only children over 12 years old can be accommodated. No sub-letting is allowed.

2. Cancellations Policy:

Please note that we have a six-week cancellation policy, and if cancellation occurs within six weeks of the Check-in date, then any booking fees paid will be forfeited, and the full balance will be due. If any outstanding payments are not made within six weeks of the Check-in date, we shall be entitled to treat your booking as cancelled and any booking fees paid will be forfeited, and any outstanding payments will be due.

If you cancel a booking for any reason you must notify us in writing by email at stay@dorniecroft.scot. Any deposit paid is refundable, less any bank transaction fees, if we are notified 6 weeks or more before your check-in date. We strongly recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance to cover any late cancellation..

3. Booking Deposit:

A 50% deposit per rental period will be required when the booking is confirmed. The remaining balance will be required six weeks prior to let date (unless a late booking or by special arrangement). If final payment of any outstanding amounts to be paid is not completed within six weeks of the check-in date, your booking will be automatically cancelled and any booking fees paid will be forfeited. If booking is made within six weeks of the check-in date, 100% of the payment will be taken upfront and is non-refundable.

4. Booking Changes:

At our discretion, dates may be transferable, subject to availability, payment of any additional fees in respect of revised dates and an administration fee of £50.

5. Damages & Breakages:

Please us let us know about any damages/breakages as soon as possible so we can replace items in good time for the next guests;

5. Bookings management:

The house is only to be let for the period of hire confirmed at the time of booking.

6. Unforeseen circumstances:

If for any unforeseen reason we have to cancel your booking, a full refund of the let fee paid will be refunded, with no further claim against the owners. If for some unforeseen uncontrollable “Force Majeure” circumstances (ie; war, natural disaster, etc) either party cannot fulfil the rental contract, then neither party is responsible for the loss of rental and all monies will be returned wherever possible;

7. Check in:

We will contact you on the email address provided at the time of booking to confirm check in arrangements in the week prior to your arrival.

Arrival for An Dòbhran is after 3.00pm and for An t-Iolaire is after 5.00pm. We operate a self-check in basis in case we are not around when you arrive, and access instructions will be sent when the booking fee balance is paid.  The cottages are on our croft and our house is nearby, so we will pop by at an appropriate time and welcome you.

8. Check Out:

Departure by 10.00am please. This allows us to prepare the house between guests. We ask all guests to leave the house in a clean and tidy condition.

9. Services:

Wi-fi, smart TV, linens / bedding, towels, toiletries, and duvet are all included.  Electricity for the house is included.  Electricity used to run the EV charger will be billed on a usage basis as per the charger app.

10. Premises:

As part of your booking you will enjoy exclusive access of the house and garden grounds.

11. Pets:

Sorry, no pets are allowed in the property.

12. Smoking:

Smoking is not permitted in the property. If smoking outdoors, then please ensure that cigarettes are properly extinguished and disposed of carefully.

13. Liability:

The owners accept no liability for any death, personal injury, loss or damage of guest’s personal property while staying at Dornie Croft. The use of the property and its contents is entirely at guests’ risk. We recommend you are covered by travel insurance for your holiday.

14. Right of Entry:

We reserve the right of entry to the property at any reasonable time for maintenance, repairs or inspection.

15. Contract:

The rental contract is between the paying client and the owner of the house.

16. Complaints and Suggestions:

Please let us know if you have any complaints or suggestions about Dornie Croft as soon as possible so we can try and rectify this immediately.
